This workshop aims to give a proposal on “alternative narratives” through examining the public space in today’s data world.
Data is the plural form of the single Latin word datum, which means ”given” the past participle of dare “to give” (from root ‘do’ – to give).
The workshop will gather a group of people from the fields of generative art (data art) and computational design to rethink the public space with an inquiry “What if there was nothing given? What if there was no data? What would we generate in the public space in the absence of it?”The participants generate their unique stories in the gaps of the Data World in the public space where we call the #tagless places. Through these stories a proposal for an experience in the augmented reality and virtual reality will be presented. And the workshop will give the opportunity to hold a discussion on space and place in terms of augmented/virtual/public.
